Often looked to as the consciences of humanity, artists have a unique ability to create powerful and innovative social change. Whether through music, visual art, performance, or poetry, artists speak with integrity and the world listens.
About the Artists In Action Event Series
The Empowerment Works Artists in Action Event Series was created to provide a medium for artists to address critical social and environmental issues facing humanity, raise public awareness of these issues, and fundraise for community-led solutions.
The series began with Art for AIDS Relief in 2001 when visual and performing artists in Santa Barbara, CA joined forces with artists taking social action in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa, to establish “Julia’s Home of Happy Colors” Orphan Care program, and the artist-led, Art for AIDS Relief HIV prevention project. The Artists in Action Series has since expanded to encompass a wide variety of artistic talent and community events ranging from theatrical productions, exclusive soirees, community building art exhibitions to live music & Club nights.
Partners In Empowerment™ Event Sponsors
EW highlights socially & environmentally conscious business and producing partners (companies pioneering sustainable production methods, embracing fair trade, and healthy workplaces) to sponsor and co-create Artists in Action Events. Artists embracing the tradition of AiA create critical mass positive associations in an ideal market niche. Sponsors are showcased as patrons of the arts and as contributing Partners in Empowerment™ supporting community-led solutions for a healthier future.
