Dear friends, and all vehicles of positive social change,
While celebrating the planet with you via our Inspired Citizen earth day edition, EW celebrates a bountiful growing team of inspired citizens Within.
Rest assured that our relative silence in recent months comes from a deep, and powerful stirring.
Over the past year, EW has been hard at work developing a multi-year event series called The Global Summit, bringing the best of EW social technology to life through a synchronized collaboration system, known as 1pie.org.
Our upward momentum comes from the remarkable volunteer support of: our steadfast program strategist Jeff Buderer, incredible new Board Member & Tech Chair, Jenny Huang, who (congrats!) just became the 14th person in 20 years to receive TM Forum Award (world’s largest industry forum in the technical field), and let’s take a minute to appreciate our true genius and breath of fresh air graduate intern from France, Marie Stojimirovic, who earned 3 scholarships to come all the way to LA and volunteer full-time with us! EW has also been vitally infused with support from Global Summit Partnership Director, Craig Spahr; Permaculture Advisor+, Ben Clayton; multi-talented advisers and supporters, Rick Pinckert and Sendra Dorce; legendary Responsible Media Guru, Jay Levin and visionary ArtsFestSF founder, Brad Nye. And, last to name but not last on our growing team, is EW’s newest Research Fellow, International Policy & Development Aid Reformer, Stefan Cibian who is leading The Global Summit policy research team while doing his PhD at the Central European University in Budapest.
Fueled by this brilliant diversity, the EW founding vision, to advance a multi-sector and interdisciplinary sustainable development approach, evolving over the past 7 years, has crystallized and is coming to life. And in perfect harmony, to bring this conviction to the world, just last week, we received the extraordinary gift of in-kind support for The Global Summit, from leading edge conscious messaging and design firm, Jungle8.
And that’s just the beginning.
With this extraordinary creative talent added to world class capacity of The Global Summit production partner Seven Star Events, there’s no stopping this collective force for sustainable transformation! Stay tuned, have an extra Happy Earth Day people, and let’s keep working together to make all our righteous dreams come true.

Global Sustainability Think-tank Series #4 - Call for Nominations!
Why is your participation necessary?
We all know that multi-sector collaboration is vital to create sustainable solutions and really change global policies and lifestyles. However, there’s no holistic framework to realize this purpose- yet.
Over the next 8-10 weeks in LA, EW is organizing a total of 6 focus groups (one for each sector - see below) to define membership goals, values and proclamations for “Partners in Empowerment (PIE) International Social and Economic Forum, United in Action for a Sustainable Future.”
These extraordinary multi-sector stakeholders, potentially founding PIE members, will lay the foundation for The Global Summit and the online participation vehicle for all, 1pie.org. EW invites your valued recommendations of exemplary members of each sector. Self-nominations are welcome.

EW presents, Marla Leigh’s The Rhythms in Peace Tour!

Rhythms in Peace is a landmark, global sound healing CD and DVD project that brings together Grammy-wining musicians and other world class artists with tribal music groups from across the globe. Through Empowerment Works’ Micro Grants for Social Entrepreneurs Program, 10% of proceeds from this project will support women musicians in developing countries (Morocco and Egypt). In support of Rhythms In Peace, there are fund raising concerts being held all over the USA as well as special tax-deductible Rhythms in Peace donation gift packages. Rhythms in Peace is currently raising money for the first phase of the project where they will go to Morocco to record with the Houyarites, a women’s healing-trance drumming group, and other Gnawa musicians! ).
