Melanie St James and I went to the Lyle Center for Regenerative Studies (CRS). We had a chance to meet Zora Tucker in the front office, and Matty West in the “back 40” who updated us on some of the exciting things that CRS folks are doing.

Matty mentioned his work on a low cost green building prototype designed to be replicated in Tijuana, Mexico. There are 25 or so students in the Regenerative Studies program, many of whom are involved in the Green Team which is doing great work in supporting CRS and promoting sustainable development. In addition the The Regenerative Co-op of Pomona is an intentional community founded by graduates of CRS in an attempt to incorporate sustainable and regenerative principles in a urban/suburban environment. They organize seminars, workshops and lectures on the following: yoga, edible landscaping, grey water, tours of the CRS, solar power, eco therapy, and bio diesel. Read more about it here.
