Los Angeles, CA (December 1, 2008) Eco Gift Shopping for the Family! The Eco Gift Festival presented by Tommy Rosen and the LA Times takes place December 12-14 at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Eco Gift showcases 150+ vendors with earth-friendly gifts, 15 eclectic musical performances, a Children’s Stage and a Speaker Series featuring Arianna Huffington, Michael Brune, (Executive Director, Rainforest Action Network,) Mallika Chopra, Josh Tickell, (award-winning filmmaker, “Fuel”,) Eco Designer Linda Loudermilk and much more.
Tommy Rosen set out to create a One Stop Shopping Extravaganza and Eco Gift delivers.

GREENING INITIATIVES FOR ECO GIFT FESTIVAL 2008:
• Eco Gift Festival 2008 has the goal of achieving a ‘zero waste’ event.
• Event signage is made with recyclable, reusable or biodegradable materials.
• Event collateral is printed on a “green printer” with vegetable-based inks and recyclable paper.
• Food sold at the event will be packaged in biodegradable, compostable food ware, and biodegradable cornstarch or potato plates and utensils are mandated.
• Implementation of a carbon offsetting program will reduce emissions generated by equipment, heating/cooling, shipping and electricity.
• Complimentary purified water provided on-site will be served in biodegradable cups to eliminate plastic water bottles.
